DeMarcus Cousins To The Magic?

As always, the Sacramento Kings trade rumors continue to swirl like wildfire. And at the center of that wildfire, it always seems to involve DeMarcus Cousins.

So what's the lucky DeMarcus Cousins trade rumor team today? The Orlando Magic!

So, yeah, we've had DeMarcus Cousins going to a lot of teams lately and today is no different. Today, it's the Orlando Magic. And why, you may ask?

The Vertical's Chris Mannix addressed it by saying, "Again, all indications are Cousins is going nowhere. But if the Kings get serious about looking for a trade partner, Orlando has a lot of pieces that would fit." That's only if the Kings decide to move him and from the look of it, that's probably not going to happen. But it's nice to talk about it.

So let's say that the trade happens and the Kings deal Cousins to the Magic. Who would the Kings get in return? Well, they would most likely need either Aaron Gordon or Elfrid Payton as their centerpiece in this deal. Payton was initially targeted in the possible Rudy Gay trade but nothing happened as of yet. Nikola Vucevic could be included in that deal and if so, he could be the starting center for the Kings. The Magic would also have to include their first round draft pick, which I doubt they would want to give up for a guy who can be considered at times uncoachable.

So would the Kings actually think about trading Cousins to the Magic? It's not exactly a move I would either like or dislike. We know the Kings are on a thin line when it comes to DeMarcus Cousins and his antics. He has problems taking coaching, but it hasn't really affected his game as much. I would like to see Cousins on a team that matters, and although the Kings are on the cusp of making the playoffs for the first time in a long time, he probably thinks the Kings are not a long-term deal for them, at least one that matters.

The move could make sense for both sides, but because the Kings have a new arena that they have to fill, keeping Cousins around would make sense as well, as it would bring in ticket sales and drive up revenue. I'm pretty sure the Kings don't want to lose that money.

Like always, the rumors always circulate and things could change tomorrow. But Chris Mannix is likely right that the Kings won't do anything with Cousins. Plus, they could be on the verge of a playoff berth and if they want to have any shot of getting there, they will need Cousins to help them.
