DeMarcus Cousins To The Magic?

As always, the Sacramento Kings trade rumors continue to swirl like wildfire. And at the center of that wildfire, it always seems to involve DeMarcus Cousins.

So what's the lucky DeMarcus Cousins trade rumor team today? The Orlando Magic!

So, yeah, we've had DeMarcus Cousins going to a lot of teams lately and today is no different. Today, it's the Orlando Magic. And why, you may ask?

The Vertical's Chris Mannix addressed it by saying, "Again, all indications are Cousins is going nowhere. But if the Kings get serious about looking for a trade partner, Orlando has a lot of pieces that would fit." That's only if the Kings decide to move him and from the look of it, that's probably not going to happen. But it's nice to talk about it.

So let's say that the trade happens and the Kings deal Cousins to the Magic. Who would the Kings get in return? Well, they would most likely need either Aaron Gordon or Elfrid Payton as their centerpiece in this deal. Payton was initially targeted in the possible Rudy Gay trade but nothing happened as of yet. Nikola Vucevic could be included in that deal and if so, he could be the starting center for the Kings. The Magic would also have to include their first round draft pick, which I doubt they would want to give up for a guy who can be considered at times uncoachable.

So would the Kings actually think about trading Cousins to the Magic? It's not exactly a move I would either like or dislike. We know the Kings are on a thin line when it comes to DeMarcus Cousins and his antics. He has problems taking coaching, but it hasn't really affected his game as much. I would like to see Cousins on a team that matters, and although the Kings are on the cusp of making the playoffs for the first time in a long time, he probably thinks the Kings are not a long-term deal for them, at least one that matters.

The move could make sense for both sides, but because the Kings have a new arena that they have to fill, keeping Cousins around would make sense as well, as it would bring in ticket sales and drive up revenue. I'm pretty sure the Kings don't want to lose that money.

Like always, the rumors always circulate and things could change tomorrow. But Chris Mannix is likely right that the Kings won't do anything with Cousins. Plus, they could be on the verge of a playoff berth and if they want to have any shot of getting there, they will need Cousins to help them.

Ducks Trade For Jhonas Enroth

The Toronto Maple Leafs experiment with goaltender Jhonas Enroth appears to be over, while the Anaheim Ducks are looking to add another veteran goaltender to their mix. Today, both teams got their wishes.
The Maple Leafs announced today that they have indeed traded goaltender Jhonas Enroth to the Ducks for a 7th-round pick in the 2018 draft. Enroth is expected to report to the Ducks' AHL affiliate, the San Diego Gulls, where he'll most likely take over duties in goal as a result of an injury to current goaltender Dustin Tokarski.
Enroth's time with the Maple Leafs ended in somewhat of a disappointment. He went winless with a 3.94 goals-against average in six games this season with the Leafs, and he spent last season being Jonathan Quick's backup with the Los Angeles Kings. Unfortunately for the Leafs, he couldn't quite cut it as a backup to Toronto goalie Frederik Andersen, and they have calimed Curtis McElhinney off waivers from Toronto to fill that void.
The Ducks will make this the fifth team in 23 months for Enroth and spent his first seven seasons with the Buffalo Sabres.
I doubt the Ducks traded him to be an option in Anaheim, at least for right now. The Ducks knew they needed some help down in San Diego as a result of their two goaltenders down there being hurt, and I believe they just traded for him so that the Gulls would have another viable option at goaltender until Tokarski gets back. I think Enroth needs some time in the AHL to help figure out what he's doing wrong and get himself back on track. I know it's a sad circumstance what he is going through, but in the NHL these days, you have to be really good in order to play at the NHL level, and right now, he doesn't seem to be doing that.

I hope Enroth can revive himself down in San Diego. If he can help the Gulls get into the Calder Cup playoff picture, then maybe he has a chance to come back up. But right now, the Gulls needed help and Enroth seemed to be the only likely choice they have to fill that void. I hope things work out for him down there.

Crowder Calls Out Celtics Fans

Usually, when players call out fans for disrespect and other signs of an attack against the team, it usually doesn't work out well. But, for one Celtics player, cheering an opponent player seem to get under his nerves.

Celtics forward Jae Crowder heard Celtics fans cheering for soon-to-be-free-agent Gordon Hayward at the game on Tuesday night and clearly he did not seem happy with the cheers. Hayward, right now, is a member of the Utah Jazz and could potentially join his college coach Brad Stevens in Boston after this season.

Crowder said to reporters after the game, "I heard the cheering before the game. I didn't like that at all. I think that was a sign of disrespect to me from the fans. That sparked a little fire in me...I just felt disrespected."

Crowder is a man that is protective of his position, especially because Hayward plays the same position and he could jump to Boston after this season.

This isn't the first time the Celtics have cheered for an opposing player. Last season, they cheered for Kevin Durant when he visited Boston, hoping that he will sign there. But he didn't. And so, now I can understand why Jae Crowder feels disrespected and on edge about this.

This is basically the only move he could do. I know it seems wrong to diss the fans, but in this case, I'm fine with it, because Celtics fans don't know that Hayward will land there. I know there's so connection there with Brad Stevens, but the Celtics might offer money to Hayward that he might not like. Ultimately, he might not go there. Celtics fans should be appreciative of the players they do have, because they've actually put this team in a good position and it seems disrespectful to say they rather prefer an opposing player over their current players.

Jae Crowder is absolutely right. It's the only move, and Celtics fans need to realize that everybody you like doesn't necessarily join your team. It could be different this time, I don't know, but in this case, you need to pay more respect to Crowder and show him love than just jumping on the back of the opposing future because you want him for the future.

It seems wrong, as I said, to call out fans, but in this case, it's fine, because of what happened last year with Kevin Durant. They cheered for Durant and didn't get him. So Crowder is right, give him some respect, and appreciate the team that's on the court now. That's all we ask.
