Giguere and Phaneuf to Toronto, Blake and Toskala Come West

It seems the Ducks got what they wanted and they got rid of a guy that had a remarkable career with the Ducks. Now that Giguere and Calgary defensemen Dion Phaneuf are headed to the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Ducks got Vesa Toskala and Jason Blake, while the Flames got four players in return. Now I'm going to say this about the Leafs. Brian Burke's acquistions had better pay off, because if they won't, then Giguere could be out of Toronto by the end of the season. But I don't see that happening. I think Toronto will be better than it was before. Giguere has proven to be a reliable goaltender while Phaneuf is an all-around defensemen. For our Ducks, looks like we upgraded a lot, with Vesa Toskala proving he might be a reliable backup to Jonas Hiller and Jason Blake, who is a force on the wing. These acquisitions should improve the Ducks and make them a force again in the West.

Google on China

While China has been trying to be as technology-advanced as any other country in China, it has been prone to theft and many other scary crimes. When somebody attacked China on their Google sites, google.cn, the United States began to take notice and rethink their strategy about trying to do business with China, based on their products. Although China's government was infuriated with the U.S.'s process to change China, the U.S. still decided to take action on their turf anyway. Now, after the attack, the U.S. is shutting down their link for China. This might be good and it might be good. For the good part, it might stop the thefts and link thefts in the China search engine. However, for the bad part, people who live in China who want the information that is acquired off of Google, might now not be able to get all of the information that Google users in America and other countries might have. But I feel it is a good issue to prevent petty crimes from happening over the Internet in other countries. It might be down for a while, but I think it is the safest and the best thing to do at this point in time.

Abstract Typography #11

This is the latest artwork I did in Web Design class. We were supposed to use the character of our first name, mine being R, and create a piece of artwork out of it. This was interesting to create a piece of artwork for my character. I didn't do a superb job as expected but it was the best I could do.

Character Character #10

These are two pictures that I made completely out of letters. I made this in my Web Design class. I was actually very intrigued by how much pictures you can make, just completely out of words. The two pcitures I made are up above.

Typography #9

In Web Design class, I created a typography with all the fonts that I could probably put in. There might have been a few typography keys missing to this, but in the end, I did what I can to try to include it all. I believe this was a little challenging but easy in the end. The creation that I tried to do is on the left.

Facebook #8

I am aware of the agreements Facebook made in terms of their privacy settings. I think that the groups who sued their Facebook privacy settings have made a good decision, but I don't think it was a correct decision at the correct time. Sure they wanted to try to fix the privacy settings, but I think time was also important in determining when privacy needs to be addressed. I don't have a particular side on the matter, because I don't have a lot of information on the matter, but a resolution will need to be addressed if the issue is going to die away. The privacy matters will be a big concern not only to these groups but to the world.
